The Matrix is Reloaded

I fire up the latest version of GAIM this morning to send a quick message to a friend of mine, Singe from World Class Mods, and was surprised to be greeted with this logo, rather than the default logo that I am so used to.

This is just as surprising as the Christmas easter egg for WindowMaker. Another reason to love Linux, the authors love to throw in little bits and pieces of code in that surprise us from tie to time.

  1. That is so cool! Actually, it reminds me of something I noticed in the first movie of the Matrix trilogy. In the scene where we first meet Neo, we get a good closeup of his keyboard. This is the scene where his monitor goes black and they start typing messages to him… You know like “The Matrix Has You Neo.” and “Follow the White Rabbit”. Anyway, as he hits a shortcut in an attempt to kill whatever is causing the messages we get a closeup of his keyboard and we see that the Windows key is blank. They apparently scratched off the windows logo for the movie. Most people considered it a
blooper but I personally think they were trying to send us a message. Whatever OS Neo was running, it certainly wasn’t Windows ;-].

I don’t know why so many people don’t like Reloaded. Just because you have to use your brain through a movie and actually think through the plotline doesn’t make it a bad movie.
